Kyzyl is enough small city located at the bank of the Yenisei river. This city differs from others due to authentic culture of Tuvan people, slow style of life, and some special energy.
The landscapes of the city are peaceful enough but Tuva keeps a lot of interesting things to see. And, you will start to get acquittance with this region starting with the capital, Kyzyl.
During a city tour you will:
walk along the major embarkment and might hear the sermon of lama in Buddhist temple
visit the Center of Asia square and the same name monument
visit the square of Arat, see local theatre, fountains and the drum of wish there
take part in master-class guided by a local craftsman
explore the history of the Scythians and see the gold which was founded in Tuva. It dates back to the 7th century B.C.
In the evening, come back to hotel, dinner.
3 day Taiga

Today you will depart to meet with the old believers (150 km from Kyzyl, off-road. Please, note the road is hard enough).
Upon arrival accommodation in wooden houses, lunch.
The place where you will stay is very simple. There are only basically necessary things (house with 2 beds and washbowl inside, banya and toilet (village style) are located on the territory). Free time.
Dinner.
4 day Meet the old believers

Breakfast
Today you will depart to meet the old believers. Not so many old believers agree to meet with tourists. They still have very close style of life.
Today you will not only visit their house, meet the family, drink tea with them, learn about daily routine, present traditions but also have a boat trip at the Kaa-Khem river, enjoying its rough steam and endless taiga at its banks.
After lunch coming back to Kyzyl.
Dinner at hotel.
5 day Meet the old believers

Distance per day: 200 km, 3-5 km on foot
Today you will keep learning the Tuvan nature.
Before lunch we offer to hike a small hill (about 1-1,5 hour) to enjoy the Biy-Khem river from the top.
Lunch will be organized with the elements of traditional dishes. Before lunch you will take part in a tea ceremony. After lunch drive to Svatikovo lake and rest there.
Svatikovo is a salt healing lake with high level of mineralization (even higher than in Dead Sea in Israel). Swimming is easy there but diving is hard.
Coming back to Kyzyl, dinner.
6 day Leaving Kyzyl

The camp Yerzhei
The camp Yerzhei is located nearby the same-name village at the bank of Kaa-Khem river.
It’s surrounded by taiga and mountains. The available services are accommodation and meals, banya, horse riding, fishing and boat tours. Please, pay attention that the camp is located very far from modern cities, the level of services are very poor.
There are only basically necessary things: 6 wooden houses with 2 or 3 beds each and washbowl inside, banya and toilet (village style) are located on the territory.
Sleeping bag might be useful there, plus don’t forget to take your personal supplies and towel.
The peculiarity of this place is its nature and possibility to meet with the old believers.
