Discovery of Khakassia

Meet with a guide upon arrival. Transfer to hotel, check-in, rest.

After breakfast start Krasnoyarsk city tour, a classic excursion with visiting main history places of Krasnoyarsk city:
Praskovya Pyatnitskaya chapel
Cathedral of the Annunciation
The theatre square
Mira square
The monument to Andrew Dubenskoy
Karaulnaya hill
Heritage-listed buildings
Then lunch & visiting local history museum, which holds a huge collection on archeology, ethnography, paleontology, natural history, exposition dedicated to Vasily Surikov, Gennady Yudin and the Decembrists.
Coming back to hotel.

After breakfast departure to Belyo Lake. On the way we will make a stop to enjoy the view of the Krasnoyarsk Hydro Power Electricity Station and have short cruise (1 hr) at the Krasnoyarsk sea.
Arrival at camp about lunch.
Then free time. You can swim in the lake, which is supposed to be one of the best in Khakassia Republic. Before dinner seminar dedicated traditions and culture of Khakas people.

Sunduki is very interesting archeological site in Khakassia, it’s natural monument. Its name means trunk boxes (into translation from Russian) because of the shape of the first sunduk.
In fact, this is mountain chain consisting from 5 beautiful hills and it’s believed that Sunduki helped an ancient astronomers to watch for the stars, Sun and Moon.
Sunduki keeps several view points, 2 options of “solar hour”, calendar and story of a warrior, the mythology of ancient people of Khakassia.
This place proves a high plane of intelligence of Khakas people who made irrigation canals in steppes. You can see it from the top of Sunduki and moreover even you can seat in a shaman’s chair!
After lunch departure to Kazanovka. Overnight in yurts.

After breakfast start full day Kazanovka exploration. This is the open-air museum which holds the secrets of thousands years. There we will visit White Stone (Ah-tas) and Khurtyakh Holl.
You won’t forget the excursion around Kazanovka reserve with exploring burial mounds and cave drawings of the ancients.
You will see archeological finds dated 2-3 thousand years back, walking in the valley of Khurtuyakh kohl, there are some interesting rock paintings.
Dinner & overnight in yurts.

Departure by bus to go down until the valley up to the site of Khurtuyakh tas stele.
Khurtuyakh tas is the mother of mothers. According to local traditions, she helps women to have a baby. We will move further along the wide and beautiful valley untill reaching the Museum of Poltakovo.
Lunch will be organized in the open-air. Today we will also visit Safronovo Burial Mound. This is one of the most picturesque burial complexes in Khakassia. There are more than 50 burial mounds of Tagarsk culture on its territory.
Their age is 2500 years. The atmosphere of peace and silence is a chance to stay with your thoughts alone.
Return trip to Kazanovka. Dinner and overnight in yurts Kug.

After breakfast group is leaving Kazanovka.
Today you will know the history of Abakan city, walk around its narrow streets, visit main museum of Republic, and visit the largest archeological monument in Khakassia, Siberian Stonehenge – Great Salbyk Burial Mound for farewell with its amazing land Khakassia.
Then coming back to Abakan and overnight at hotel.

Check-out, transfer to the airport.
